Phillip Tucker Jr. and Tiffany Richardson woke up newlyweds Sunday.
They were married Saturday afternoon in West Chazy, New York, at a ceremony organized largely by a group that had only just met the couple days prior.
"I am so happy," organizer Julieann Carter said, fighting back tears. "(We) made his wish come true. We made it come true and that's what is important."
The couple was married in front of family and also hundreds of strangers.
Carter said in a tag on Facebook earlier in the week led her to Tucker's story.
[post_ads]She knew she had to put all her effort into making the day reality.
"When I finally met Phillip, it put me in full force," she said. "We're going to make those three wishes come true."
Tucker, 25, has congestive heart failure, and according to his family, his kidneys and liver were quickly failing him. He later passed away Tuesday.
Tucker told loved ones that his final three wishes were to take a ride on a motorcycle, marry Richardson and celebrate at a wedding ceremony.
As many things do these days, word of his wishes circulated on social media, capturing the hearts and attention of perfect strangers across the region.
His perfect day was organized in just under a week.
Hundreds of motorcyclists met Saturday morning in Peru, rallying together to escort Tucker from his home to West Chazy, where his wedding would take place.
"He's not asking for much, and with what short time we had, we were able to pull this off and make all three wishes come true," organizer and motorcyclist John Fountain said. "He wanted a group of brothers to come together and he got it."
Lake City Choppers provided a motorcycle with a sidecar to ensure Tucker would safely make it to the ceremony.

"Speechless. It's awesome," Phillip's father, Phillip Tucker Sr., said. "He doesn't have long to live. He wants a party, to enjoy himself, so that's what we're trying to do."
The family members shared how grateful they all are for the kindness and generosity of their community.
"Thank you everyone: the bikers, the people who cooked, everybody, all my friends that came up, family, everybody," Tucker Sr. said. "Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart."
The day was complete with a donated wedding cake and a pig roast, at Tucker's request.
"It's weird. It's ironic how we all can get together to make this happen," Carter said. "Thank you to all the community that helped us. It means the world to him that his three wishes came true."
With pink lanterns in the trees, Tucker and Richardson were married.
